Why consumers are urged to return dark chocolate truffles

According to the recall, dark chocolate truffles may contain traces of milk protein. When a product may contain milk or any other major allergen, the FDA requires the company to include this information on the label (which was not the case in this case). The cause was traced to contamination on “lines shared with milk chocolate by the chocolate supplier,” according to the recall.

Although no serious reactions have been reported due to the contaminated product as of August 5, she is the one asking customers to return the product for a full refund. The recall involves 3.5, 5, and 16 ounce pouches of That’s It Dark Chocolate Truffles (including fig, date, banana, raisin, and fig flavors with sea salt) with dates. expires March 23, 2023 through July 8, 2024. The company says dark chocolate truffle packs produced from August 1, 2022 have been verified to be free of all milk proteins (via the FDA).
