What does Onslow have planned for Easter?

With Easter a week away on Sunday, April 17, businesses, churches and other venues are gearing up with a variety of events.

Although Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, many will also associate the holiday with the hunt for eggs, chicks and pastel colors. Here are nine events Onslow locals have planned for the holidays.

The Easter Bazaar at Grit + Grace Bazaar

Grit + Grace Bazaar is located at 969 NC Highway 210 and will be hosting an Easter Bazaar on Saturday, April 9 from noon to 4 p.m.

“There are so many reasons why people should come to the event this Saturday,” said owner Marilyn Didomenico. “At Grit + Grace Bazaar, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Didomenico said the bazaar will include a photo section, provided by Fowler Photography, and live bunnies from Every Bunny Rescue for petting and photos. Rabbits are rescues and wild rabbits that are no longer wanted, have allergies, and/or need to be rehomed for various reasons. They will even be available for adoption.

Owner Marilyn Didomenico is thrilled with the Easter bazaar.

“On top of that, we’ll be having an Easter Egg Hunt with around 800 eggs up for grabs for kids 12 and under,” Didomenico said. “It starts at 12:30 p.m. We will also have crafts with our vendors and face painting available.”

The event will also include cornhole, free bees, Funnels of Love funnel cake, and more.

“To raise awareness in our community, we will have members of the Yopp Cemetery Restoration Group from the Sneads Ferry Community who would like to talk about a local gem, The Yopp Meeting House,” Didomenico said. “They are on a mission to restore the meeting house and are asking for donations from the community.”

She said the event is not just for kids and there will be lots of vendors. For more information, visit thegritandgracebazaar.comtheir Facebook pageor call 910-741-0838.
