OSHKOSH (NBC 26) – The following information is from a press release from the Oshkosh Area School District.

The Oshkosh Region School District (OASD) said it had partnered with the Winnebago County Health Department to organize on-site COVID-19 vaccination clinics for families with elderly children from 5 to 11 years old.

Internships will be held Monday, November 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Oaklawn Elementary School and Tuesday, November 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Shapiro STEM Academy. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be available. Follow-up clinics to distribute the second dose of Pfizer will be held November 29 in Oaklawn and December 7 in Shapiro.

On-site vaccination clinics are open to all OASD students aged 5 to 11, as well as their immediate family members. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent / guardian present and a consent form signed by the parent / guardian. No appointment, ID or insurance required, says OASD.

Families accessing the clinic will be directed to a limited number of individual offices for confidentiality reasons. Approximately 120 doses will be available on a first come, first served basis. Those accessing the vaccination clinics are asked to arrive no earlier than 3:30 p.m. once the school day is over and traffic is reduced. Parking is available in the main car parks. A consent form must be completed in advance and is available online at www.oshkosh.k12.wi.us/covid-vaccine-outreach.

People cannot be vaccinated at this clinic if they have had an observed allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction) to any injectable medicine or vaccine, OR if they have received any vaccine (including influenza vaccine) within the past few years. Last 14 days.

Families are also encouraged to contact their pediatrician or take advantage of vaccine availability within the Oshkosh community, including Wednesday walk-ins at the Sunnyview Expo Center (500 E. County Road Y) from 1 p.m. to 1 p.m. 6 p.m. every Wednesday (no appointment necessary).
