Passengers are welcomed aboard the UnCruise Safari Voyager with a smile and a champagne toast, followed by the first of many gourmet meals to be enjoyed during a week-long voyage. Guests are asleep in their cabins by the gentle swaying of the waves as the sail begins.

mule train
One of the most popular excursions on this route is a mule ride along a mountain trail that takes you through scenic canyons and includes a visit with a local ranchero. It’s an authentic adventure through Baja.
Half the fun is getting there
The islands in the Sea of Cortes are so remote that the only way to get to them is via a skiff from the ship to shore. And what a scenic ride it is, with no extra traffic!

A bird lover’s paradise
One of the most colorful birds you will see on your skiff ride is an oystercatcher, always on the lookout for a meal of oysters, shellfish and fiddler crabs. With so many species of seabirds inhabiting this part of the world, bird lovers will be thrilled with this adventure.
Snorkeling in “the world’s aquarium”
If you love snorkeling, you’ve come to the right place. The Sea of Cortes is known as “the aquarium of the world” and is a World Heritage Site. It is home to 891 species of fish, 39% of the world’s marine mammals and a third of the world’s marine cetaceans (whales, dolphins, porpoises, more than 170 species of seabirds and 7 species of sea turtles).

colorful crab
If you have visited the Galapagos Islands you will have seen many of these Sally Lightfoot Crabs hugging the rocks around the islands. They are also very present in the Sea of Cortes, as are the blue and brown footed boobies and the magnificent frigatebirds, which are also part of the fauna of the Galapagos Islands.

An Adventure Whale
Magdalena Bay is the place to be between mid-January and mid-March, when the gray whales (after migrating 12,000 miles) return to give birth. The Sea of Cortes is also home to fin whales, blue whales and sperm whales, and pods of dolphins number in the hundreds. After seeing this whale, cruise passengers were also treated to a fantastic sight given by playful dolphins jumping along the boat.
