The House welcomes the Humana ribbon cutting
VALDOSTA – The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for Rhonda Mansour, Humana’s licensed agent, to inform the community of Humana’s new local PFFS plan.
Humana Inc. is an American for-profit health insurance company based in Louisville, Kentucky.
“It is their mission to help people achieve lifelong well-being,” chamber officials said in a statement. “Their main goal is to improve health care and make it more accessible. Humana is one of the largest providers of Medicare Advantage in the country, a private version of the federal health plan for the elderly.”
Humana is not new to County Lowndes. However, it originally only offered regional plans available to seniors, while next year it will offer local PFFS plans, chamber officials said.
Mansour specializes in health insurance and is committed to partnering with clients to find the health benefit plan that best suits their needs, chamber officials said.
Mellow Mushroom named a leading company
VALDOSTA – The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce named Mellow Mushroom as the Top Business of the Week.
Leading Business of the Week is a program that rewards businesses that are long-time chamber members and have a strong image in the community, chamber officials said in a statement.
Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers was founded in Atlanta in 1974. Each Mellow is locally owned and operated and offers a unique feel focused on excellent customer service and high quality food, chamber representatives said.
Valdosta’s location is no different and features a superhero theme, where patrons can pose with the Hulk before eating.
It is Mellow’s mission to “provide delicious food in a fun and creative environment,” chamber representatives said. “Mellow provides continuous service to Valdosta, Kinderlou, Stone Creek and other surrounding areas.
With an assortment of menu options ranging from pizzas and calzones to 40 draft beers to choose from, Mellow Mushroom caters to everyone. They are aware of food allergies and sensitivities; many of their pizzas can be prepared. gluten free.”
Lindsey Gray, Managing Director of Mellow Mushroom, said she was delighted to announce that Mellow will be participating in fundraising events for local charities and organizations. Resources will also be allocated to work closely with schools for fundraising and support for educators.
